How tuition and aid work

What sets tuition, how a place is held and how to ask about aid, in plain words.

  • Tuition depends on the hub, the days a student attends and whether a family adds after care. It is set by the year and billed by the month. The office gives each family its figures, and the founder goes through them at the visit.

    • The hub and its open days

    • The grade band

    • After care days

  • Registration

Applying and enrolling each carry a fee that pays for the school's time reading an application and holding a place. The office tells you what each one is, and when it is due, before you apply.

    • Application, due when a family applies

    • Enrollment, due when an offer is accepted

  • Holding a place

After an offer, a family has two weeks to answer. A signed enrollment agreement and a first payment hold the place, and the payment counts toward tuition. When a hub is full, the waitlist is kept in the order families ask, and the lead guide calls when a place opens.

  • Billing

Tuition is billed by the month through the school's online account, with autopay as an option. A family that uses a state education savings program can ask the office how that payment is scheduled.

  • Financial aid is available. Here is how to apply: ask the office for the aid form after you apply, return it by the date on the form, and the founder decides with the hub's lead guide. Many families here also use a state education savings program; ask us how it fits with our billing.

  • Siblings

A second child may join the same hub or another, depending on grade. Ask the office what that means for the days and the monthly bill.

  • Withdrawing

We ask for thirty days' notice, in writing or by email. Tuition for the month in progress is billed as usual, and nothing is billed for months after the notice.
