Family policies
The questions families ask before a first day, with the school's answers.
Photos of your child
We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.
When to keep your child home
Please keep your student at home with a fever, with vomiting or with a rash a doctor has not looked at, and until they have been well for a full day. A guide texts you the same morning if a student is unwell at the hub.
Drop-off and pickup
Each hub has one door for arrival and one for pickup, and a guide stands at each. Only the adults on your pickup list may collect a student, and we ask for ID from anyone we do not know. An older student may leave alone only when a parent has said so in writing.
Closures for weather and holidays
The school closes for the holidays and for extreme weather. If a hub closes, families hear by text before 6:30 a.m. In a heat warning, movement time moves indoors.
Leaving the program
We ask for thirty days' notice, in writing or by email to the office. Tuition for the month in progress is billed as usual.
Screens and phones
Students use computers for typing and research, with a guide nearby. Phones stay in bags during the day, and a guide can hold one at the door if a family prefers.
What to wear and bring
There is no uniform. Students wear plain, comfortable clothes and closed shoes for movement, and bring a water bottle, a hat and sunscreen put on at home.
Meals, snacks and allergies
Students bring a packed lunch and a water bottle each day, and every hub has a refrigerator. Tell us about allergies at the visit; we ask privately once you enroll.
Still have a question?
Write to the office and we will answer in a day or two.
